Each player receives an individualised programme to meet their specific needs. This is the same whether you are based at BACA or PACA campuses for your academic studies.

There are a range of components to the cricket programme which include technical, tactical, psychological, strength and conditioning, and coach education elements. The programme is designed to help maximise the potential of every player regardless of ability or playing aspirations.

Playing Programme

With the development of the ACA cricket ground at BACA, which will include a premier league standard cricket square, a new pavilion and indoor cricket school, the Academy is superbly equipped to play excellent competitive fixtures against a wide range of schools and representative teams. This gives players opportunities to put into practise skills developed throughout the winter in top class indoor facilities.

You will also be involved in nurturing the younger talent in both academies as you assume the roles of leaders and coaches in the schools’ Inter House competitions. There are also opportunities to extend your coaching skills further in the wider community by delivering coaching to feeder primary schools.

International Tours

The ACA is passionate about allowing players to experience the wider benefits of being part of a sport that is enjoyed around the world in a variety of countries and cultures. In February 2015 we undertook our first overseas  tour, to South Africa. You can see the success on the field and the life-changing experiences encountered on Twitter @Aldridge_CA.

Training Programme

These are individually tailored to suit the needs of every cricketer. They are planned using periodisation principles to ensure that peak performance is achieved at the most important times.
The ACA programme aims to develop players who have potential to be successful at County level or even beyond as well as those who simply have a passion for cricket. Students joining this squad will be offered a special tailored programme whereby they will follow their academic studies in the morning and train/play cricket in the afternoon.
