On Friday June 23rd the Sir Rod Aldridge Cricket Centre at BACA hosted a competition for primary school girls teams from across the city. Over 140 girls from 14 primary schools from Brighton & Hove took part in the second girls competition hosted at the academy that week. On the previous Sunday the Centre had been chosen to host a Lady Taverners U13 competition as well.
A busy week concluded with Sussex U11s playing their T20 matches at the Centre.
Charlotte Burton, Sussex Cricket Foundation Women and Girls Development Officer said: “All the schools, clubs and counties that have played their have been so impressed with the facilities and how well we have been looked after by the team at the Sir Rod Aldridge Cricket Centre.”
“Speaking with a number of the year 6 girls at the tournament yesterday who are going to BACA next year they are even more excited with going to the school, knowing they can continue their cricket and there are facilities there to do it, which was really encouraging to hear.”
