Fifteen students from the Aldridge Cricket Academy are flying out to Dubai today for the academy’s second overseas tour. Accompanied by Director of Cricket Alexia Walker, Strengthen and Conditioning Coach Rob Chave, and former well-know former Sussex player John Spencer, the squad will be playing three matches over the seven day trip.
Dubai is currently the base for Pakistan’s international cricket and will provide the students with a very different set of playing conditions to develop in. As well as traing and playing the trip gives the students an opportunity to experience a new culture and community. In addition to playing and training they will be visiting the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque, the Sheik Mohammed Centre for Cultural Learning and the local souks.
1st eleven captain Sam Dobson said: “Iam extremely excited about the tour. It will be very beneficial to my skills as a cricketer and as a life experiece, because of the different culture and lifestyle of everyday life in the UAE.”
“This will be fantastic experience for us in the upcoming season because we will have a solid bond as a team, as well as a better understanding of our strengths and weeaknesses, all of which will contribute towards a successful season!”
